Overview

The Area Agency on Aging of North Central Texas receives funding through the Older Americans Act and Texas Health and Human Services to provide social and health services to people aged 60 and over and their family caregivers. It also serves people with disabilities and family caregivers of older adults and people with disabilities. All services are provided without charge to those who qualify. Services funded by the Agency include home-delivered meals, congregate meals, transportation, benefits counseling, case management, health workshops, counseling, caregiver training, respite care, long-term care ombudsman, and nursing home relocation. The Area Agency on Aging of North Central Texas is a program of the North Central Texas Council of Governments and serves the 14 counties surrounding, but not including, Dallas and Tarrant. These counties include Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, and Wise.
