From April 2015, Nafoods Group had test planted successfully the first 6 hectares of passion fruit in cooperation with the household farmers in Moc Chau. In June 2016, the Nafoods Group established North Western Nafoods Joint Stock Company (headquartered in Sub-area 84-85 Farm Town, Moc Chau, Son La). The Company is aiming to create a stable supply of raw materials for the Factory located in Nghe An and to export directly related products. Main operating manners are to provide good and free-disease seedlings and exclusive sale to all products. With the support of the local authorities and people and the efforts of all staffs of the company, the area of passion fruit has been expanded more than 500 hectares in the Northwest regions such as Hoa Binh, Son La (Moc Chau, Van Ho, Mai Son, Phu Yen, Mai Son, Yen Chau, Song Ma, Thuan Chau ....), Cao Bang (Tra Linh) .. According to technical experts and farmers who are directly involved in passion fruit cultivation, soil and weather conditions in the northwestern provinces are well suited to the development of large-scale passion fruit cultivation with estimated productivity 30-45 tons/ha and the best quality in Vietnam. Taking such advantage, the plantation area is expected to expand to 700 hectares and the factory construction in Moc Chau is going to be launched by the end of 2017. The Company aims to reach 5,000 hectares of passion fruit plantation in 2021, thus ensuring full materials sources for the agricultural production chain of Nafoods Group including "seedlings - plantation - processing factory - export".
