With Xeus wire produced at commercial scale, MetOx will help electrify and decarbonize large markets that depend on the enhanced power carrying capacity. HTS wire has several transformative applications, most notably: transmission and distribution of renewable energy, high-field magnets for fusion power and next generation MRIs, advanced motors and generators, space-based electrical storage, and other defense and transportation-related technologies. MetOx's new manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, is the first of its kind in the US and will produce over 1,000 km of Xeus wire per year.
