Lightning is more than a travel recruitment company. We’re a movement sending a jolt through the industry. Because things need to change – & we’re determined to make it happen ⚡️ Believe it or not, we didn’t choose Lightning as our name because of the cute emoji. Truth is, we were brainstorming in a pub – where all our best work happens – thinking about changemakers & queer icons who champion individuality & send jolts through their industries. Bowie. Gaga. Potter. (Okay, maybe not the last one.) Their lightning bolts represent power and decisiveness – flashes of clarity, inspiration, & creativity. Done. Our Purpose We believe you should be the change you want to see. It’s no secret the travel industry lacks diversity, or that its recruitment processes are unfair – it’s just that no one talks about it. But we do. Because we think taking ownership of our industry’s issues is crucial if we’re going to overcome them. & we really want to, because we love working in travel. Sure, we might ruffle some feathers. Maybe worse. But that means we’re changing the game. & making a positive change is why we do what we do. Our values Our values guide us every day. Feel free to borrow them. What’s ours is yours. In fact, please do. We’d love everyone in our industry to live by them. Be empowering. Everyone being the same is boring – and it makes for really bad business. So, seek new perspectives. Encourage authenticity. Celebrate differences. Because everyone should be able to bring their whole self to work. Be human. Like it or not, work is emotional because it impacts people’s lives. So, be compassionate. Show generosity. Foster long-term relationships that help everyone thrive. &, for goodness sake, don’t ghost people. Be better.
