For Le Monde Beryl, form seamlessly follows function and each collection offers a new take on an essential design, made to thrive in any and every setting. Committed to sustainability, Le Monde Beryl employs the finest Italian fabrics throughout its minimal-waste production process. At the core of our collection is the traditional Venetian gondolier’s shoe, originally sewn together from scraps of fabric and rubber during the Second World War; today, our sustainably-produced shoes are handmade in Italy by master artisans who employ age-old techniques and the finest velvets, satins, and suedes, as well as intricate embellishments. Designed with both the everyday and adventures in mind, they are at once sensible and sensuous. Rooted in the spirit of curiosity and exploration, our offerings weave together decorative traditions that span countries and eras, from ancient Egyptian scrolls and the metalwork of the Byzantine Empire to the Mughal Empire’s ornate compositions. The name Le Monde Beryl references a family of gemstones, which includes emerald, aquamarine, and morganite; like such exceptional objects, Le Monde Beryl’s richly-colored creations— are crafted to be admired from every angle and stand the test of time.
