Overview

LBJ Infrastructure Group (LBJIG) was awarded a 52-year contract to design, build, operate and maintain the LBJ Express project, a $2.7 billion, 13.3-mile highway in Dallas, Texas. The corridor spans along I-635/LBJ Freeway and is one of the most innovative, congestion-management projects in North Texas. Construction began in 2011 and was completed in 2015. The new highway includes redesigned, general highway lanes and fully-optimized frontage roads. As these were being rebuilt, four to six tolled express lanes (known as the LBJ TEXpress Lanes) were added in the middle of I-635, from Luna Road to Greenville Avenue. Since completion, the LBJ Express has doubled in capacity, spanning across two municipalities in Dallas County. At LBJ Infrastructure Group, we work to provide congestion-management solutions to North Texas drivers. With the addition of the LBJ TEXpress Lanes, we offer drivers a choice in their daily commutes. With more than 500,000 trips per day on the LBJ Express project alone, it is imperative to offer a product that enables drivers to maintain a more predictable rate of speed. The consortium which makes up LBJ Infrastructure Group is world leaders in transportation infrastructure development. These include Cintra, Meridiam and APG. Out of these, the lead firm in the consortium is Cintra. Mission: Why? We improve the future by developing and operating sustainable infrastructure and cities. How?
