Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute (LKI)

Think Tanks

Overview

The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) engages in independent research of Sri Lanka’s international relations and strategic interests, to provide insights and recommendations that advance justice, peace, prosperity and sustainability. The Institute is named after the Late Hon. Lakshman Kadirgamar, P.C., M.P., who served three times as Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister in 1994-2000, 2000-2001 and 2004-2005. The Institute is the realization of a goal relentlessly pursued by the Late Hon. Foreign Minister, to fulfill the need in the country for a centre dedicated to the study of its strategic interests and international relations in a broader and holistic context. The LKI reaches an influential audience of policymakers, academics, and commentators with its analysis of Sri Lanka's international relations and strategic studies. Its partner institutions include a global network of both independent and government-affiliated think tanks in the field of foreign affairs. Enquiries about joining or collaborating with the LKI can be directed to programmes@lki.lk.
