Overview

Young Professionals (YP), previously known as Graduates of Last Decade (GOLD), is a group of IEEE members that have completed their first academic degree within the last 10 years. The YP program has been established to provide several helpful tools and resources designed to help young professionals evaluate their career goals, polish their professional image, and create the building blocks of a lifelong and diverse professional network. Benefits of the IEEE YP program include: - IEEE technology and information - Online research & career resources - Online job search - Online seminars - Professional networking opportunities - Peer connection - Local social activities - Leadership opportunities The Region 8 Young Professionals committee’s task is to create awareness of and to promote Young Professionals programs in the Region for the identification and development of IEEE volunteer leaders/members. The committee acts as an active promoter, resource, and liaison for sections and branches to generate and support Young Professionals activities, and is eager to increase the number of activities across the region, revive inactive & initiate new affinity groups, support membership development, and effectively coordinate with professional activities, R8 SAC and life members. The committee is determined to support Young Professionals Affinity Groups and encourage them to boost the number and quality of activities within their section.
