Overview

House of Elrick is a gin created in small quantities and meticulously monitored, every batch of House of Elrick gin is created by hand by our Master of Gin. We produce just 600 bottles per batch to maintain control over the absolute quality and integrity of our liquid. We are the only artisan, small batch gin at the moment that uses fresh, filtered water straight from Loch Ness, we have wild Scottish heather as the roots or our heritage and the dried petals of the rose in homage to Bonnie Prince Charlie. What gin would not be complete without capitulating our links with Italy using only the finest mediterranean Juniper and citrus peel, giving our gin a delicious lasting gin note with floral warm nose. The overall effect is smooth, slightly earthy yet sweet, which will without doubt have you joining us for a drink. Nestled in the lowlands of Aberdeenshire, the House of Elrick was established at the height of the enlightenment era. Inspired by the thinking and radical shift against the ‘norm’, the House became a centre for artists, poets and writers who gathered there to discuss their philosophies, fuelled by a glass of London dry gin. Visited by Bonnie Prince Charlie, who introduced the Jacobite rose to the gardens, the house has been lovingly restored to its former glory and welcomes creative and enlightened minds to fill its rooms once again. Elrick House has a rich heritage with the current owner being only the 4th to occupy since being built upon the estate in the 1780’s. The early owners were noted as being huge fans of Italy where the fascination with the enlightened likely began, even to the extent that when he passed away in his will he left an entire collection of over 1000 volumes of art works, religious and historical studies, plus thousands of photographs and negatives to the British School in Rome. We are now in a new era of ownership which is looking encapsulate the past bringing new life to the House Of Elrick.
