From Kibera With Love began in 2012 when the founder, Marta Baeta, set foot in Kibera for the first time to do some volunteering. Nowadays, FKWL is a registered NGO in Portugal and a CBO in Kenya. It`s main objective is to provide support to people in need, specifically in Kibera, one of the largest slums in the world, located at the gates of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Our goal is to become an NGO of reference in promoting human and community development, where education and love will always be the basis for the growth of any child. Our focus is the children and, consequently, their families. We have a model that focuses on the whole household, through an investment in the education and training of the children, in their future life, and in the support and training of their families. Currently, with our team on the ground, the volunteers, the sponsors, partners and donors, and fundraising activities, we support over 60 children in Kibera 365 days a year in the following areas of operation: - Certified Education - University scholarships - Extra-curricular activities - Free Time Activities - Meals - Health - Clothing and shoes - Birthday Parties - Field trips
