Overview

Earth Day Everyday is an initiative of the Friends of Pound Ridge, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. With the critical environmental issues we face around the globe, this is how we are tackling climate change. Why not think of Earth Day as an everyday effort? Learning how to live a low waste lifestyle and embracing these habits every single day can have a lasting positive impact on our environment. Let us make this a simple and easy experience to show you how to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Compost! Our initiative kick-off was with our Low Waste Exhibition last April 2021, in celebration of Earth Day. Next we held our first Annual Earth Day Everyday Celebration 2022 on April 23rd with an Expo of over 30 exhibitors, 9 EDEx Talks speakers, sustainable and organic food, our Earth Day Everyday Pop-Up with its Water Refill Station and Compost Waste Station, along with family fun activities to show you how your small changes can lead to big change! We are now planning our 2nd Annual Earth Day Everyday Celebration 2023 this coming April 22nd with even more fun to come! Hope to see you there! Look for us at Friends of Pound Ridge and other local events with our Earth Day Everyday Pop-up – Water Refill Station, Education Table, Staffed Waste Stations, and Waste Reduction Consultations. Our Water Refill Station continues to keep thousands of single-use plastic bottles out of our local waste stream. Bring your refillable water bottle to fill up or get a compostable cup of free water. At the same time, we will teach you about composting and local composting options to significantly reduce your trash. Learn more about composting and let us show you how we create successful low waste events. Hope to see you around town!
