Overview

Out of sight, out of mind. We don’t see the methane emitted into the atmosphere when we order a hamburger at a restaurant. We don’t see the groundwater contamination from landfills when the garbage truck turns the corner. We don’t see a planet suffering from human exploitation —rather a convenient resource, ready to give and be acknowledged once every 365 days. The Happy Earth Day podcast offers an alternative way to see the consequences of our everyday actions on the environment by listening to their effects via a series of interview from around the world. It serves to not only educate, but also challenge us to continue the conversation outside of the show with others in our community. Season 1 is all about the ways we connect to nature and our environment whether it’s through technology, science, policy, music, religious faith, culture, food, history, etc. and seeing the ways in which these perspectives develop in different regions of the world. I hope these stories inspire you to find your own connection with the natural world!
