After 9 years of recruiting for the Construction industry in general as Vineyard & Partners, Gene Vineyard was contacted by the parent company of a precast producer. The subsidiary had been awarded a contract for a Segmental Bridge. They asked Gene if he would be able to find an engineer with Segmental Bridge experience. Vineyard’s response was, “We are professional recruiters, if we accept a search assignment, no matter how difficult, we can and will find that individual no matter how rare the skills”. He was able to successfully surface and recruit an engineer who was involved in building the Segmental Bridge on “Grandfather's Mountain” in North Carolina (see the slides on our home page of this iconic bridge during the 4 seasons) During this search, Vineyard discovered there were no other search firms recruiting for the concrete industry. Some did so as a sideline, but not as their main focus. In the mid 80’s, Vineyard made a corporate decision to change from a construction ‘generalist’ to an even narrower specialist and recruit for the concrete industry . . . exclusively. Vineyard and Partners became Construction Products Recruiters, Inc. and remained such until 2000. In 2000, Construction Products Recruiters became a “Dot Com” company. We changed our corporate name to ConcreteCareers.com. CC.c has specialists who recruit for various sectors of the concrete industry. ConcreteCareers.com maintains membership in most industry specific associations and actively participates in their conventions and meetings.
