Overview

Concordia Place is a vibrant nonprofit providing proactive solutions to key social needs. Our focus is growth and opportunity through economically inclusive early childhood, teen leadership and senior wellness programs. In 1981, Concordia Lutheran Church in Chicago’s North Center community responded to need for quality, affordable, and safe after-school programming for the neighborhood’s children. In that moment, Concordia Place was born. Now, nearly 40 years later, Concordia Place has expanded from serving 12 children, to providing education, enrichment, and wellness services to nearly 800 children, teens, and seniors at four locations on Chicago’s northwest side. Our sliding scale tuition ensures families throughout the economic spectrum have access to high-quality early childhood education and after school programming from 7AM to 6PM. Parents can go to work confident knowing their child is in a safe, nurturing environment. Teens in our leadership program begins to develop the 21st century skills and an entrepreneurial mindset needed to be successful in our fast-changing world. This free program serves over 200 teenagers, ages 13–18, annually, drawing from nearly 40 schools across the city of Chicago. We enhance the quality of life for seniors through holistic services that address their physical, spiritual and social well-being. The Senior Wellness and Senior Lift programs reinforce a sense of vitality and connection, allowing our seniors to remain independent and age in place. Providing opportunity. Growing the future. Changing lives. facebook.com/concordiaplace twitter.com/concordiaplace instagram.com/concordiaplace
