Overview
In 2006 at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences the Competition Law Research Centre was established. The centre is devoted among others to foster research in competition law, to establish international relationships and to publish papers on recent developments in Hungary and Europe. The Competition Law Research Centre is administered by the Director who is responsible for the day-to-day operational work. The Board is responsible for some administrative duties and is the general body entrusted with the supervision of the work carried out in the centre. The Scientific Council is entrusted with the supervision of the professional work and research. The research and other work in the centre is carried out by the researchers. The research centre was established with the aim to create a forum for competition lawyers pursuing either academic or other legal careers to debate controversial issues arising in competition law. The debate is not only oriented at lawyers, but also to economists, since competition policy issues in the broad term are also in focus.
