Overview
Rosemount is located in Dakota County, a southeastern suburb in the Minneapolis / St. Paul metropolitan area, with a population of 23,000. It is a pro-growth community with plenty of land available for new construction. In the last decade Rosemount’s population grew by 50% and is projected to increase by another 90% to 42,000 by the year 2030. The City is 15 miles south of the Twin Cities central cities and 20 minutes from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. With land area of nearly 36 square miles, Rosemount residents enjoy the advantages of living in a community with both a small town and large metropolitan city atmospheres. Unusual for a city of its size, Rosemount combines industry, agriculture, and agricultural research with a rapidly growing residential community providing an excellent environment in which to live and work. Rosemount has median household income 41% above Minnesota’s, a highly educated workforce with 39% of its residents holding college degrees, and the fourth highest median house value of all cities in Dakota County. Rosemount is a close-knit community in touch with the urban environment. It is rich with resources: undeveloped land; easy access to Minneapolis, St. Paul, and other major markets; quality education; and friendly residents.
