Overview

Cape town Child Welfare Society is the oldest & second largest child welfare organisation in South Africa. Since 1908, CTCW has helped over a million children emerge from crisis situations ranging from drug/alcohol abuse, poverty, homelessness and crime, to severe neglect and physical and sexual abuse. The establishment of 7 contact centres across the Cape Peninsula enables CTCW to take on 100 new cases every week. The overriding goal of CTCW is to ensure the survival and protection of children at risk – to help them break the cycle of despair in their lives, so that, ultimately, they are free to live fruitful, productive lives as flourishing members of society. Cape Town Child Welfare is closely affiliated with the International Forum for Child Welfare. With Desmond Tutu as its patron this 105 year old organisation is proud to be so widely recognised for our role in the protection and upliftment of the city’s children. Vision Ensuring the safety and protection of children. Goal To create a specialised, sustainable, cost- effective and quality-driven child protection agency
