The British Association of Dramatherapists, commonly known as BADth, is the professional organisation for Dramatherapists in the United Kingdom. Dramatherapy has as its main focus the intentional use of healing aspects of drama and theatre as the therapeutic process. It is a method of working and playing that uses action methods to facilitate creativity, imagination, learning, insight and growth. The Association’s objectives are: to promote the advancement of Dramatherapy as a profession. to be the representational body for dramatherapists working in the UK. to promote, maintain, improve and advance the education of the public about the benefits, theory and practice of Dramatherapy. to be an advocate for the establishment and maintenance of fair pay and conditions of service for Dramatherapists. to forge links with Dramatherapists and Dramatherapy organisations internationally.
