Jan 2014 - Jan 2015
This was a voluntary position where I was appointed a flat of first year students living in halls to be their representative. This was for a whole academic year and very much a 24/7 job, as it requires living with the flat. Duties included: •Helping to move in the students on their first day, and helping them enrol and register for the university and any events they wanted to go to. •Keeping eight first year students safe and looking after them through fresher's week •Meeting with other flat representatives to organise events for the students to socialise •Mediating students and resolving arguments when they arose •Attending mental health, first aid, drugs and alcohol awareness talks to be prepared for many situations that could occur.
