BGE or BG Energy Solution Company Limited was established in May 2017 according to the policy of Bangkok Glass Public Company Limited, hoping to efficiently and fully utilize waste energy from glass packaging production. It began with a steam production from waste heat recovery project at BGC Khon Kaen Glass in 2010 with production capacity of 40,000 tons per year. Later in 2014, there were initiations of electricity production from solar energy project at BGC Khon Kaen Glass with production capacity of 0.6 megawatts and electricity production from waste heat recovery project at BGC Ayutthaya Glass with production capacity of 2.2 megawatts in the same year. The electricity from these two projects are being used internally within the factories and are sold externally. The projects coincide with the government’s policy in promoting and supporting the most efficient use of energy. BGE is ready to implement the use of renewable energy to satisfy the needs of energy both internal and external. It is moving forward to expand its potentials with a basis of looking after the environment and taking into account the quality of life of everyone in the community in every aspect, to create energy stability and sustainability in the country.
