Overview

Baltic Environmental Forum (BEF) Estonia is a non-governmental organization working in the areas of environmental protection and nature conservation. Our main aim is to preserve sustainable environment through raising awareness and promoting environmental management to increase knowledge and improve skills of different stakeholders. Among the people working in the field of environmental protection, Baltic Environmental Forum is known in Estonia and in other Baltic states for organising different events, such as conferences, seminars, workshops, round-tables for experts etc. Among all the activities, our experts have been involved in the process of releasing different kind of publications. Our activities include following aspects of environmental policy: - chemicals policy and handling chemicals in industries; - nature protection and Natura 2000; - water policy and management of catchment areas; - waste and hazardous waste management; - reducing industrial pollution; - energy efficiency and renewable energy resources; - consumers awareness raising; - implementing environmental policy on national and regional level. Baltic Environmental Forum Estonia belongs to BEF Group that was founded in 2003 and has offices also in Latvia, Lithuania, Germany and Russia. Network has common goals and joint activities. Since 2013 BEF Estonia is also a member of Estonian Council of Environmental NGOs that helps environmental activists jointly achieve the environmental protection goals that are important for all of us.
