“Azienda Agricola Cortese” is a certified organic estate located in Vittoria (RG), in the South-East corner of the island of Sicily. All the wines produced here are made in the most traditional and natural way, using only Sicilian indigenous grapes and employing ancient wine-making techniques such as fermentation in terracotta. The resulting wines are a combination of modern technology and traditional techniques and are a true reflection of their terroir. The Cortese estate, founded in the 30's, has been owned by the northern Italian brother and sister Stefano and Marina Girelli since 2016. The Girelli family has been producing wine in various regions of Italy for decades, but is the island of Sicily that captured their hearts. Stefano and Marina realized many years ago the tremendous potential of Sicily for making premium wines and, as strong supporters of organic cultivation, recognized the perfect conditions for producing organic, low-intervention wines.
