Overview

The initiative Alliances for Climate Action (ACAs) was established in 2018 for expanding and strengthening the voices of subnational actors to support the emergence of national multi-stakeholder alliances to accelerate decarbonization and build climate resilience in their countries. The long-term goal of these alliances is to build powerful and diverse national multi-stakeholder alliances of subnational and non-state actors that, together, drive national socio-economic transitions aligned with 1.5 °C compatible trajectories that result in net-zero resilient economies by 2050. ACA´s work is based on a strong global climate action agenda that is mobilized by the Global Champions group, the Climate and energy practice of WWF and global ACA partners, through working with the Marrakech Partnership, Race to Zero and Race to Resilience campaigns, catalyzing non-state actor engagement to deliver Paris Agreement goals.
