2010 - 2020
Provided technical and analytical expertise on multiple National Research Council Canada projects while concurrently working on doctoral degree. Mastered computational analytical tools such as MISES for airfoil design, GasTurb for gas turbine cycle design and ParaView for CFD post-processing. Designed a novel jet engine exhaust modeling test section that addressed the limitations of previous designs by integrating a cylindrical probe traverse mechanism. Used advanced 3D solid modeling techniques to design and prepare test section parts for manufacturing via traditional machine processes and modern stereo-lithography 3D printing techniques. Managed multiple CFD testing campaigns using commercial and open-source code as a means of rapid design iteration while testing hypotheses. Used experimental design skills to plan physical test campaign for economical and efficient validation of CFD simulations. Engaged programming knowledge to develop Python based scripts and executables to improve efficiency when analyzing large data sets. Published and presented research in international journals and conferences in clear, concise and accessible technical writing. Show less

Turbomachinery Aerothermal Specialist
-
2017 - 2018
Provided expertise and knowledge to this small business to help them diversify from sales of third party electric-blower equipment into the manufacture and sales of proprietary turbomachinery technology. Developed a system from the ground up for computational design and analysis of turbomachinery parts. Chose computation hardware and software. Administrated the installation and execution of the computational system for all employees in the research and design group. Kickstarted and supervised a small team on the development of MatLab based software for scaling environmental conditions of blower test reports. Show less
