  KASTEEL DE KEVERBERG - OP HET KRUISPUNT VAN VERLEDEN EN TOEKOMST Een van de oudste kastelen van ons land is tevens ook het modernste. Kasteel De Keverberg is in 2015 in een nieuw jasje gestoken. En nu is het met haar ligging aan de Maas een unieke vergaderlocatie, eventlocatie, trouwlocatie en feestlocatie. Op de grens van Noord- en Midden-Limburg is het ook een perfect onderdeel van een dagje uit vol historie, avontuur en architectuur. Natuurlijk bent u ook welkom voor een heerlijke kop koffie of een lekker speciaalbiertje. De oorsprong ligt in het jaar 950 toen de tolrechten aan de Graven van Kessel werden toegekend. Om deze rechten kracht bij te zetten bouwden ze een grote stenen toren. Rond het jaar 1250 werd deze half afgebroken en bedolven onder het zand van de huidige kunstmatige heuvel, ook wel motte genaamd. Deze toren is bij de herbouw in 2015 weer deels zichtbaar gemaakt en kunt u in de kelders van het kasteel bewonderen. Hierdoor staan er in feite twee kastelen boven op elkaar.....hoe uniek kan iets zijn? Laat u ook verrassen door het wonderlijke verhaal van de laatste adellijke bewoner, Baron Frits van Keverberg.
