U-Meleni personifies elegant and earthy eloquence in her poetry, spoken-word performances, singing, theatre, dance/movement, and activism. She is also a published author (Soul Psalms, She Writes Press). I have known her through our participation in the Write on the Dot Advisory Board in Dorchester for several years and have gotten to know her more deeply because of my work on the Leadership team of the Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston. U-Meleni is a 2021 fellow, where she is an active and effective participant. U-Meleni is an encourager, an educator, a seeker, and a believer. She is a Zimbabwean-American who has performed locally, regionally, and internationally. She is also quickly connected with another fellow and they are recording a powerful song-anthem that will soon be released. That this connection happened is a testament to her open heart and mind and her phenomenal work-ethic. I recommend her for performances and to lead workshops with women, young people, and educators.

Meleni is an imaginative and skilled leader in the areas of education, program coordination and the arts. She has a unique ability to relate to and guide students through her creative drive and motivational teaching tactics. In our professional work together, she inspired thousands of students to reach wellness goals and aim for personal successes, while simultaneously rousing fellow teachers and co-workers to raise their own level of teaching excellence. Additionally, her passion for personal health, fitness and entrepreneurialism resonates though her new running initiative. Meleni is enjoyable to work with and potentially for in any company.

Meleni is an intuitive, creative, deeply caring educator. In her teaching and tutoring, she blends understanding of the obstacles students face with high academic expectations. Students have shared with me their admiration of Meleni's gentle and poetic nature, but also acknowledge her fierceness. As a result, they are motivated to perform at a higher level than they even expected of themselves. I hope to get the chance to work with Meleni again soon.
