iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) is a 14 week synthetic biology competition. Teams design and implement a novel genetically engineered system to have real-world applications. The Cambridge team comprised eight undergraduates. Together we built and tested components for a biosensor, as well as accompanying hardware and software. We presented our work at the European and International judging events, placing 2nd in Europe out of approximately fifty teams. iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) is a 14 week synthetic biology competition.
