The following is a summary of my job description: - Effective epidemiological (surveillance and detection) surveillance system of cholera, measles, Ebola viral disease, malnutrition, sexual gender-based violence, malaria and others potential epidemic diseases within the health zones within North-Kivu province; - Prepare regular written reports on progress and results for the medical coordinator / Amsterdam team and, where appropriate, for external collaborators / networks (MoH, other NGOs); - Establish a good coordination system between epidemiological surveillance, NKERU, projects and response. - Implement initial assessments in case of emergency rapid health assessment and baseline or follow-up surveys; - Manage data systems and ensure accurate and high quality databases in collaboration with the Amsterdam Data Tools Manager; - Perform data analysis, produce indicators or graphs that should be part of the monthly medical report; - Strengthen the capacities of project teams and NKERU for programmatic analysis (example analysis of data in relation to the workload in a structure according to the origin of cases in relation to the objectives. - Provide training sessions to medical teams on relevant aspects of epidemiology to improve the team's response capacity. - Collaboration / sharing of resources with other MSF sections at national, regional and international levels. - Lead the implementation of the protocols and epidemiological methodology, ensuring all related staff follows them in order to improve research efficiency; - Supervise, according to annual plan, epidemiological research activity; - Design maps for the mission projects and ensure updates as needed using GIS. perform the mapping of outbreaks and health structures. - Active member of the Ebola surveillance committee in North-Kivu province in collaboration with MoH officials.
