Small, diverse, and sustainable defines Kingbird Farms, but their true nature lies in the care and passion of the farm owners and manager. Kingbird Farms is dedicated to their local town of Galt, 30 miles south of Sacramento, CA, serving and delivering sustainably grown produce, eggs, and honey to residents and commuters. As a sustainable farm intern, I worked hands on for 3 full months, learning basic concepts of sustainable living and crop production. I was introduced to Slow Food Sacramento, an organization dedicated to fair, clean, and good food for all. Dalian Urban Development Design Co, is a multi- disciplinary firm working out of Dalian, PRC. Collaboration on urban design projects concerning environmental preservation and city development allowed me to gain a better understanding of Chinese ethics and processes.
