IBS Consulting is a Canadian career-education consultancy I founded for the sole purpose of providing peer to peer academic mentoring to students. My passion for higher education and mentoring birthed this initiative. Since the start of my company, I have mentored 500+ students worldwide and helped some of those students land both their dream schools and jobs. Additionally, I have also been able to create employment targeted at hiring students who are also visible minorities in society. As founder and an academic coach at IBS, I have: 🚀 Scaled the company into a six-figure revenue business with 7 employees within just 14 months. 🚀 Negotiated a combined value of 151 million dollars in compensation and scholarships for 500+ students and young professionals. 🚀 Attained an application success rate of 95% for Graduate school applications. A 3 day training programme to equip participants with the necessary skills to excel as trainees and commercial lawyers.=> Day 1 - Effective Written CommunicationStudents were assigned documents and tasked with proofreading and finding errors in them. Out of 34 errors we were supposed to find, I caught 33 errors after proofreading. Additionally, we were also taught other helpful tips in writing like using the active voice.=> Day 2 - Legal Research Attendees were taught to use legal software in conducting legal research. Terms learned include statutory instrument, Halsbury’s Laws as well as the Traffic Light system. => Day 3 - Commercial Awareness I learned about how law firms functions as businesses right from the granular details as to how they are structured (LLC vs. LLP) to macro-economic issues such as COVID or political influences that affect the operations of a law firm.
