  iuvas medical is a medtech start-up with the vision to optimize processes and products in clinical everyday life. Currently iuvas is focused on the drinking aid sippa, that helps people with swallowing disorders to drink secured. sippa enables an optimal head positioning for safe drinking, the so-called chin-down and chin-tuck maneuver. The change in attitude results in increased respiratory protection. This head position can prevent up to 50% of the aspirations. The prevention of aspiration in patients who are at risk for aspiration pneumonia is critical given the high morbidity and mortality associated with aspiration pneumonia.
