Tearfund Ireland is an Irish International NGO - Relief and Development operating in 12 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East & one of a global Tearfund family from 11 nations across the world. It is funded by the supporters in Ireland, the Irish Government, Institutional donors & Philanthropy. My leadership extends across the international development sector in Ireland, Europe and internationally. I was elected by my peers within the International Development sector in Ireland to serve two terms as Chairperson of Dóchas, the Irish Association of non Governmental Development Agencies. Dóchas is a membership body of 60 Irish International NGOs with a multi-million combined annual income operating across the world. I was elected Chairperson for 3 years of EU-Cord, a network of 22 INGOs from 12 countries across Europe and vice Chair/ Board Director for 3 years prior. I am a Board Director of Integral Alliance, a global alliance of 25 INGOs collaborating in humanitarian responses and founding Director of the Irish Emergency Alliance. As a strategist and leader, I have led on the process of casting vision and developing ambitious strategy and objectives while setting the pace and plotting the course. I'm responsible for the strategic and day to day management of Tearfund Ireland, with offices in Ireland and Ethiopia. My responsibilities include: Leadership, Strategic Management, Development and Humanitarian Programmes, Grant & Donor Management, Relationship Management, Philanthropic and Institutional Fundraising, Advocacy, Governance, Financial Management, HRM, Marketing and Communications. Key Achievements: • Increased partnerships and collaborations, nationally, in Europe and Internationally • Significantly increased funding by 36% • Doubled international programme funding • Strengthened controls, structures, governance, risk management, compliance • Scaled up the organisation across all areas of activity

As founding CEO of the Base, I led the development of the flagship project of Ireland’s URBAN II Programme’s (2002-2006) €11.5 million socio-economic regeneration programme in Dublin, funded by EU/NDP and managed by Dublin City Council. I led the design and construction of a €7 million capital build and fit-out of state-of-the art facility providing multi-disciplinary programmes and services to children, young people and the wider community. Reporting to the Board, I led the strategic and day to day management of organisation with 45+ employees across multiple disciplines and functions. I took this flagship project from concept phase through to full operations and managed it through the difficult years of recession from 2008 to 2012, I led the organisation for 10 years.
