The anticipated outcome of this project is the development of a miniaturized spectroscopic sensor that analyzes the chemical composition of combustion-generated ultrafine particles, which both reflects the particle sources and determines their toxic potential. The machine-learning algorithms will enable the deconvolution of the complex spectra and identification of the PM source from the EEM analysis. The goal of my work is to compile a detailed report that will help Manson Construction Co. better understand how they can effectively participate in floating offshore wind installation projects. In addition, I also support Estimating Engineers by assisting them in analyzing and preparing bids for future marine construction and dredging projects that Manson Construction Co. plans to undertake. Using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager's Building Emissions Calculator, I was able to calculate 21 Acres' green house gas emissions and predict the impacts of changes in efficiency and energy. Materials Lab I use the FTIR machine to detect the different substances within a material. I helped with an experiment investigating the force of a horse crop on a surface.
