My work at the YWCA began as an emergency response team (ERT) intern. In September of 2021, my work transitioned to full-time employment as the Sexual Assault ERT Advocate. Although the position is therapeutic in nature, I also work as a part-time therapy intern through the YWCA department. I have experience using MI, CBT, DBT, and EMDR techniques. I am EMDR trained and am completing my clinical MSW degree. My job description fits emergency crisis intervention for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. I provide them safe shelter at the YWCA, therapy, and referral for additional therapy, continued advocacy, and legal services. Part of my internship involved creating and implementing an exciting attendance based incentive program for USAA gym members.
