ASEC is a provincial post secondary advocacy group representing over 110,000 students from 17 Universities, Colleges, and Polytechnics. As a Director on the board I am responsible for advocacy strategy, management oversight, and speaking with government representatives such as the Premier, and Minister of Advanced Education. In this role I have had over 50 meetings with government officials to advocate on the needs of post secondary students. As the President I was the elected leader of the Students' Association. Saitsa is an non-profit organization with +150 staff members that provides programing, services, events and representation to over 13 000 students. I lead a team of 4 executives and operationalize our strategic plan while improving the student experience at SAITKey successes include: - Successfully overhauled Saitsa governance structure and changed our working board model to a policy board - Advocated to and met with over 50 Federal, Provincial, and Municipal politicians and community leaders resulting in changes to public policy- Launched and amended many programs at Saitsa including Saitsa's "Dragons Den", Video Game Co-op, Awards Program, Health and Dental insurance, and Grant Program Funding- Managed teams to create research papers and recommendations on Fall Reading Week, Ombudsman, Open Educational Resources, and Post Secondary Affordability Show less

Tax Program Administrator

In the winter of 2019 I was hired by the SAIT Students Association to run the CVITP Tax program for Students at SAIT. I had to implement a program to organize and train SAIT Students to complete and file tax returns, free of charge, to other students and members of the community. I researched and implemented scheduling and appointment software, as well as created a comprehensive training manual. With my team of well trained volunteers we were able to successfully complete and file over +300 tax returns. Show less

Crew Chief

In the position of Turn Around Crew (TAC) agent I was responsible for all "below wing" activities involved from when an airplane arrives to when it departs. This means that I along with a rotating team of individuals were responsible for guests baggage from when they checked it in to when the plane departed. Crews must be organized and efficient to make sure planes are able to leave on time, and that bags reach guests at the terminal as quickly as possible. This job required a great sense of time management as well as teamwork and responsibility. The Calgary Surf Club club has a focus on facilitating ease of access to surfing in Calgary. We support Albertan surfing initiatives and create surfing events and lessons. Highlights include: - Organized river surfing lessons and rentals at Calgary’s 10st. wave - Organized 32 club members on an annual week long surf trip to Tofino. Members got to experience ocean surfing for the first time. - Hosted multiple river surfing information sessions in collaboration with the Alberta River Surfing Association - Raised over $5000 to support river sports initiatives in Calgary - Hosted multiple social events to build community at SAIT and MRU Show less

As a child care provider I am responsible for my child's safety and wellbeing at all times. I take care of activities such as cooking and transportation as well as help with school work and making appointments on time. I also am great with kids and love playing games of all sorts and teaching them various recreational endeavors such as ice skating and hiking. Being close to Vancouver I enjoy helping kids get to appreciate their city by teaching them about Vancouver's wonderful public transit system as well as showing them wonderful things around the city such as commercial drive and Van Dusen gardens. Summer Camp Counselor

A camp counselor for groups of 12 year olds for 2 week periods over the summer holidays. In this position, myself and a co-counselor were responsible for each group 24 hours a day for each two week period as this is an overnight camp. We guided our groups through wilderness and team building activities as well as taught them survival skills. This position allowed for creativity in how we taught our groups about the joys of the outdoors and was a great learning experience in leadership. Also, I was able to learn the best ways to deal with flaring tempers and how to settle disputes. Helping kids get excited about and comfortable with the outdoors is a very rewarding experience. Helping customers find what they need and presenting a positive and friendly face for the company. I worked in the seasonal department which was very busy so I learned how to quickly help lots of customers and always did so while being friendly and caring! This job helped me to learn about customer service and how to successfully utilize my team members. When It was extremely busy around the holiday season or during heavy snowfalls we had to work together to successfully help as many customers as possible. I also recognized through this experience that I love to keep busy at work and thus always am doing something. For example, as sales staff when the store was near empty I would typically grab a broom and sweep the aisles or help out another department. Show less
