P&G Asia HR Transition Leader, Shared Services Outsourcing (concurrent with Asia HR Associate Direct
-
Jan 2003 - Dec 2003
HR Leadership in preparing the organization for outsourcing to a single global vendor: - counseling leaders on communication and employee morale, - conducting and deploying personal transition training, - developing HR Transition plan to ensure all HR areas were prepared for transition to the global vendor. Outsourcing to a single global vendor was aborted and the second wave was put in place. The second wave of outsourcing saw 3 vendors:• IT infrastructure to HP, • HR Employee Services to IBM and • Facilities Services to Jones Lang La Salle. This entailed working with 3 different organizations within P&G GBS and coordinating with key HR and business leaders on the vendor side, ensuring that there was a smooth transfer of 536 individual P&G GBS employees across Asia to the 3 vendors to protect the business and protect the employees. This was a challenge as transfers were largely voluntary across countries. At the end of this transition, Asia GBS had the largest rate of transfer globally with 94% of the inscope employees agreeing to transfer to the vendors. This was possible through • leadership coaching - ensuring leaders clearly understood the basis of the transfer and the impact of the move on individual business plans, organization and careers• employee counseling – providing one on one counseling with employees who were having diffictuly accepting the outsourcing by providing relevant perspectives in terms of career prospects and the vendor company reputation• frequent townhall communications – leading general update/ communication meetings to ensure employees were updates periodically on the progress of vendor selection, impact on business and employees and timing of transition • close coordination with the vendors - ensuring the terms and conditions of the global contract were strictly adhered to at the local level with regard to compensation, career and level.
