Ultimately, this means that while devastated families are mourning the loss of their loved one, they're not carrying the added weight of wondering how to keep the lights on or put food in the fridge after a loss of income. Having served hundreds of thousands of our nation’s First Responders through my for-profit business (FRTF) over the past 10+ years, I've witnessed the tragically underserved gap that resulted in the birth of FRBA. Each month, an average of 21 First Responders perish in the line-of-duty, resulting in their families being impacted by a double tragedy— the loss of a loved-one and their income. By 2025, our goal is for FRBA to be an immediate source of financial and emotional support to 100% of families impacted by an in the line of duty loss of a First Responder.
