The Pacific Book Review called it an engaging business fable and gave it Star Recipient status.𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙍𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙚: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙧 is a compelling business fable that follows an "everyman", Joe Miller, from his earliest leadership days through to his retirement speech. Early on, Joe finds a mentor, Sagen Cruz, who is masterful, insightful, and probative as he draws Joe to each leadership challenge. We listen in on sixteen mentoring sessions as readers passively gain the benefits of Sagen's careful guidance and witness Joe's efforts to adapt.Very well organized and easy to read, it allows these leadership development tasks to emerge organically as the two men work together. Sagen calls these predictable leadership challenges "Rites of Passage" and tells Joe each passage will continue calling to him until he masters it. Ignoring a challenge will not make it go away. Readers also benefit from the way Sagen understands the core issues at play and points Joe to a masterwork in the literature which Sagen briefly summarizes, asks Joe to read, and expects Joe to incorporate into his leadership. At the end of each chapter, we find three text boxes. The first shows what Joe's real challenge is. Second, what and how Sagen is mentoring. The third offers discussion questions for a seminar. • How to Overcome Leadership Frustrations and Build Strengths Through Leadership Coaching
      • Oct 1998 - Present

There is great frustration among good leaders that their next developmental work is hard to detect and harder to master.CEOs complain that underdeveloped leadership is their organization’s greatest challenge. At first, the agenda for basic leadership competency is clear. But after that, it becomes increasingly difficult to identify the work that will escort the leader into the next stage of development. In my long career coaching and mentoring leaders, I have discovered a 16-stage leadership development model. This allows leaders to master ever-more difficult leadership tasks. If you have asked yourself:• How can I build followers? • Is it time for me to become a leader of leaders? • Couldn’t I be a better leader if I had better teammates? • I’m a pretty good leader, but what do I work on next? You can contact us for a consultation or simply read our new book, Leadership Rites of Passage: The Journey of The Aspiring Leader and the Methods of The Mentor, by clicking here: www.navigatorgroupinc.com. • Concrete Steps Mentors Can Take to Increase their Insight & Influence
      • Oct 1998 - Present

Just as aspiring leaders can stall out in their development work, so can mentors. It seems the mentee is a good leader but not a great leader. So, what is the next level of development and how does the mentor get him/her there? This frustration contributed to our theory of the 16-stage leadership development model. It shows mentors how to guide the leader toward and through each challenge. In your mentoring have you asked these questions:• How can I know how much growth potential this leader has? • Should I give them what they want or what I think they need? • How can I overcome my mentee’s subtle but entrenched resistance? • How can I show them their greatest frustration reveals their next developmental work?I would be glad to talk but you can read our new book, Leadership Rites of Passage: The Journey of The Aspiring Leader and the Methods of The Mentor, by clicking here: www.navigatorgroupinc.com.
