Taha is derived from a fusion of Māori & Asian and New herbal knowledge. TAHA originated through exploring the health benefits of kawakawa, a shrub like tree that grows naturally in many parts of Aotearoa-New Zealand.Kawakawa has long been used by Māori for health purposes. It has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties and is hepatoprotective. The Kawakawa leaf can be chewed to relieve toothache and applied to cuts & scratches. Kawakawa is often drunk as a tea, just soak a few leaves in hot water. Our favourite is to let it cool and add a dash of lemon, ginger or lime.​​​​​​
