Established in 1988 Poutama is an independent charitable trust that provides business development services to Māori. Poutama strives to create an environment for successful business ventures and economic growth for Māori. Income generated from our investments enables Poutama to engage in activities and provide services that support and facilitate Māori business development. We deliver on our word and are committed to the goal of economic revitalisation and growth of Māori enterprise. No where is this more symbolic than in the Poutama logo: the stepped pattern of tukutuku panels and woven mats signifies not only genealogy but also the various levels of learning and achievement.
