      BKP Economic Advisors is an economic research and consulting firm owned and managed by its five partners, and with a core staff of about thirty experts. The company was established in 2006 and is based in Munich and Berlin (Germany) with associates in Canada, Ethiopia, Ghana and the Netherlands.Since establishment, BKP has completed more than 150 projects, research and lecturing assignments for governments, institutions and academia. Donors for which we have worked include the European Commission, international development banks and donors (the World Bank, the Inter-American and African Development Banks, the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation), a wide range of bilateral donors (Belgium – BTC, Canada – CIDA, Denmark – Danida, Luxembourg – LuxDev, the Netherlands – Minbuza, Spain – AECID, Sweden – Sida, UK – DFID/FCDO, and USAID); in addition, we have implemented projects funded by the clients directly, such as the European Commission’s DG Trade or the governments of Ethiopia or Rwanda. Annual turnover has been around USD 3 million in recent years.Ramona is responsible for acquisition, event management in the framework of technical assistance projects and project management, lately specializing in gender and trade issues and women's economic empowerment. She is trained in “Gender and Trade Linkages” by successfully participating in UNCTAD’s training module on the topic in 2020.

      BKP was contracted to implement a 2-year FCDO funded project on gender, social inclusion and trade. As the project manager, Ramona was responsible for all project outputs and activities. Project activities included:- The establishment of a network of gender and social inclusion champions to foster south-south exchanges on how to integrate GESI into trade negotiations and agreements at the country level; and facilitate peer-to-peer learning;- Filling information gaps in understanding the relevance of gender and social inclusion issues to the work of policy makers on trade and investment and tackle scepticism on the benefits of considering social and gender issues within trade and investment policy making; and- Increasing the technical skills of developing country policy makers in GESI aspects of trade negotiations and agreements by providing practical information on how to mainstream a gender equality focus into trade negotiations, trade agreements and capacity building programmes on trade and investment.Ramona created a website to share knowledge on gender and trade, established a working group and member platform for networking and exchange of best practices; she organised international network events & multi-stakeholder trade dialogues in Geneva and globally; managed capacity building activities for policy makers in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
