  • Every summer travelled with the charity Order of Malta Volunteers to Lourdes in France taking between 20 and 50 physically and mentally handicapped adults and children, to give their carers/families some respite• Disabilities ranged from mild forms of autism to quadriplegics creating a challenging and interesting mix of responsibilities and activities• Responsibilities ranged from getting the ‘patients’ washed and dressed in the morning to creating activities and pass times and was a very rewarding experience.
