  In 2017, I had the opportunity to return to my alma mater to conduct while my dear former teacher and mentor Mrs. Johnnella Lucas Edmonds was out on leave. Upon her return, I was honored to be guided by her in the Department of Music. In 2021, Mrs. Edmonds retired from the Department of Music after 50 years of dedicated service. It is beyond an honor to have been named Instructor of Voice and Interim Director of Choral Activities at Virginia State University.
