I assisted in the management of complex international project and asset finance deals, private and public offerings, and other corporate transactions, including reviewing and drafting corporate agreements. My pro bono work centered on human rights, immigration, and social enterprises. As part of my immigration pro bono, I assisted clients in applying for asylum and navigating the immigration process. I conducted intakes, connected resources, managed cases, and provided support for separated parents for one week at a detention center in southern Texas, as part of ProBAR-led efforts to reunite families. My human rights work focused on researching and drafting reports for AIPR's civil society work in Latin America and PILPG's prison reform work in Africa, and drafting legislative revisions to prevent underage marriage. I presented a survey reports of LGBTI rights to the AIPR Latin American network during their annual meeting in 2019 in Paraguay. My team developed recommendations on dispute system design for the Boston Department of Neighborhood Development, Office of Housing Stability. The team led stakeholder interviews and assessments to assess receptivity and develop and effective strategy. I also researched ADR mediation models and housing practices in Boston. Project description: Created by Mayor Martin J. Walsh in January of 2016, the Office of Housing Stability (OHS) is charged with helping Boston residents find and maintain stable, safe, and affordable housing. Essential to the Office’s displacement prevention work is the development of resources to facilitate the resolution of housing-related conflicts. A diverse group of stakeholders have reported the need for a City-run or City-sponsored forum to resolve disputes involving tenants, landlords, property management companies, condo boards and/or homeowners. OHS engaged HNMCP to assess the stakeholder needs and design a dispute resolution program that can offer parties a less expensive, more predictable, and more efficient option than existing legal processes. As Technology Director at Khmer Legacies, a non-profit that documents survivor stories of the Cambodian conflict and genocide under the Khmer Rouge, I maintained the website and Salesforce contact database I also assisted in the planning of fundraising events and contributed with research to presentations in conferences and museums. I was an AIESEC Yale member for a year before becoming Vice President of the Outgoing Exchange team, which is in charge of sending Yale students, as well as students from the surrounding region, on internships abroad in other AIESEC countries. I first managed a 4 person team, which later developed into a 13 person team, focusing on motivation, participation and taking initiative. The primary goal was to reach 50 internship exchanges, a goal that later morphed into developing a trained and motivated team with members that would remain active in AIESEC for the rest of their Yale career. Additionally, I managed communication with other AIESEC chapters around the world. I also trained the team from scratch and managed their communication to AIESEC chapters and the areas each worked in. Moreover, I worked on short-term and long-term planning and strategies with the Executive Board (4 other Vice Presidents and the President). I also planned and facilitated 4 training sessions at a Northeast Regional Kick-Off Seminar for new AIESEC members. As an AIESEC member, before becoming Vice President, I had been part of the Outgoing Exchange team and its activities as well as in charge of promoting internships on the website. Show less
