Penny Green

As well as being a very gifted surgeon, Martin is an incredibly caring and empathetic person who has a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for sick kids. I've had the honour of knowing him for nearly 29 years, first as my sons surgeon and subsequently through my work with Down's Heart Group and have nothing but praise for his work.

Download the excellent Gresham College App from the App Store. This post involved the delivery of 6 public lectures per year for a period of 4 years. My lecture series covered the Heart, its anomalies and how they can be corrected, as well as looking at the place of the heart in music and art. The politics of the delivery of highly specialised health care in a time of austerity were also debated. The lectures are all available on line at the Gresham College website.

CHI manages the paediatric services in Dublin and is bringing them together in a wonderful new hospital. Integrating services in the current medical and financial climate is challenging but necessary and rewarding. I am delighted work as CMO at Allocate. Their software should help all health systems optimise the use of staff resources at a time when budgets are under pressure and staff hard to find. Getting the right people to the right place is a great way to improve safety in healthcare, my lifetime obsession. I am delighted work as CMO at Allocate.
