I volunteered to conduct accompanied visits to collect qualitative data on visitor experience of the 'Twilight at the Museums' event (run across the University of Cambridge Museums sites). Following the event I produced a report on the findings for the University of Cambridge Museums to help improve future events and increase accessibility and public interest. I volunteered on a four-week research excavation of a medieval manor house at the site of Newhall, Castelton run in joint collaboration by the Castleton Historical Society and the University of Sheffield's Department of Archaeology. I gained direct experience of survey, excavation, recording and finds processing, and provided tours of the site to interested members of the local community.
