I worked with Yashvini on the HackIT project, where we won 1st place. It was partly thanks to the incredible persuasion and influence Yash had shown during the presentation and Q & A, where the judge was sold on our pitch. Yash was a great team player, encouraging, and funny - we all need a bit of humour under a high-pressure hackathon! Overall, it was a wonderful growth experience together, and I look forward to seeing Yash strive in future engagements.

Though my role of managing social media, I also get to learn more about sustainability that can be achieved through ground breaking technology. It is a great learning experience and a chance to understand more about small scale solutions for livestock small holdings, as well as be privy to the latest developments in the field. During this internship, I got to work with surveying equipment, managing different construction parties, helping in crack monitoring and carrying out quality checks for steel works in an upcoming 3 storey apartment and complex in Kenton lane. It was incredibly instructive to learn from more experienced people in the industry and get a feel of construction sites. During the entire year and 2 months of the summer, I worked on an undergraduate research project in fluid mechanics, getting experience of working with 3rd party Matlab packages and the Particle Velocimetry Data from Florida's WOW (Wall of Wind) hurricane research facility. It is my first taste of having an open-ended research topic and iterating over various failures before getting coherent results, and sparking curiosity in research in general and finding solutions to unknown problems through ingenuity. As the campaigns officer, I come up with new campaigns and event ideas to promote sustainable eating in campus. I am worked on an ambitious campaign 50by2020, which aims to have at least half of the food in UCL plantbased by 2020. Fortunately, UCL surpassed expectations and is going 100% plant powered by 2024.
