Overview
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Geospatial Systems is a collaborative partnership between Newcastle University and the University of Nottingham. With the Geospatial Commission predicting that opening-up geospatial data in the UK could have an annual economic impact of £11bn, and the global geospatial industry expected to be worth $500bn by 2020, the aim of the CDT is to train the next generation of world-leading geospatial engineers and scientists. Through undertaking a comprehensive four year training PhD programme, which has been specifically developed by our world-leading geospatial scientists and informed by our industry partners, the CDT will provide PhD researchers with high-level, industry standard, knowledge and skills in; the Internet of Things, Big Data Management, and new analytical methods such as Artificial Intelligence.
