While working with Marilyn as SEA CLEAR Peer Counselors, I witnessed first-hand the dedication and motivation she had as a counselor and as a student. I was highly impressed with Marilyn's time-management skills, critical thinking, and maturity, not only because she was just a second year at UCLA, but because she prioritized better than most undergraduates, including myself. She balanced her work with her studies well by being sure to front-load her counseling sessions at the beginning of each quarter in order to reserve time to study during midterms and finals. While she focused to excel in school, Marilyn also excelled in her work with SEA CLEAR. She consistently received positive evaluations from her students, and finished tasks given to her timely and efficiency when assigned. In meetings, she was never afraid to voice her opinion on the current topic of discussion. It is Marilyn's devotion to the community that shows her passion for helping others, while her positive work ethic displays the tools necessary to succeed. With that said, I am more than confident that Marilyn will excel in any path she decides to take in her future.

Marilyn was the best resource I had transitioning into UCLA. She was a great listener, extremely caring, and incredibly resourceful. Whenever I had a question, I knew that Marilyn was the person to turn to and she was always there for me. I really admire her dedication to everything she does as well. I know that Marilyn will make a positive difference wherever she goes and with whatever she does.

As a first year dental resident, I provided comprehensive dental treatment for veterans with complex medical/psychological histories. These basic services include restorative, endodontic, removable/fixed prosthetics, oral surgeries. Other complex procedures I've performed include surgical extractions, socket preservation, implant placements/removal, molar root canal therapy, and crown lengthening surgery. In addition to my regular dental responsibilities, I have participated in the following: * Medical rotations through ENT, anesthesiology, ER * UCLA resident courses: hospital dentistry, medical emergencies, sedation, oral pathology, pharmacology, practice management, TMJ * Screened patients for COVID-19 in VA emergency tents, ordering tests, when necessary * Triaged emergency patients via teledentistry Show less
