As an ambassador for Amnesty's campaigns, I had to approach members of the general public, in all parts of London and in other british towns (Norwich, Cambrige, Oxford, Portsmouth…) from all cultural and social backgrounds, and convince them to sign up to monthly donations to Amnesty International. As a result, I successfully raised more than 5,000 pounds for the organisation. On top of enhancing my interpersonal skills, this experience attests on my capacity to convince a wide range of interlocutors. I achieved a consistent persuasiveness by adapting my speech constantly and communicating clearly on different levels. Moreover, this position taught me to take a progress focused approach to problem solving in order to succeed in difficult circumstances. For instance, I had to make my pitch more innovative everyday. This position was very demanding but including daily deadlines, it helped me focussing on the progress I could make on the short term. Show less
